Ups and Downs

Be resilient.

I enjoy looking for things in the world around me that serve as a reflection of something hopeful or true or captures a view about “real” life. This week, I appreciate the reminder, from the tree on the left in this picture, that sometimes life is not a linear, straight up, “peak” experience.

There are ups...

There are downs...

There are ups again...

I am also reminded if you stick with the pursuit long enough...

if you keep reaching toward the light...

if you keep drawing in that which gives deep nourishment...

eventually...

over time...

there is beautiful fruition.

Every day, month, and year that passes carries with it, simultaneously, an anticipation toward the fulfillment of hopes and dreams and goals and plans and a doubt of things truly coming together to reach fruition.

This tree reminds me that I can be resilient.

When I think about how long this tree must have taken to grow the downward cycle of its “growth” I am reminded to be patient through the dips of life. To Hold A Steady Line.

As January 2020 ushers us into a new decade, I am reminded to IMAGINE how the accumulation of a continuous collaboration of efforts can result in reaching fruition!

Sure we need sunlight to help us to keep reaching...

Sure we need nutrition and fresh water to give us the right building blocks to keep growing...

See those other trees in the group to the right?

May we all be reminded of the importance of stepping together. Those trees remind me to surround myself with the company of people and pursuits that reflect the direction I am headed.
